Sitting with Luke Connors, the song collectors were fortunate to hear song after song. In this meeting, about fourteen songs were shared by Luke. We met in a pub in Enniscorthy where we were also briefly joined by a young boy who beautifully shared the song Wexford Town. In our meeting with Luke he sang to us numerous songs, ranging from rebel songs, including the Wicklow Mountains, to older songs stretching back generations, such as a Wexford song about an old heifer. Luke has a wide repertoire and often finds himself leading in song, singing to his family in the evenings over a beer.
